Barium Upper GI Radiograph- a barium
solution is swallowed and coats the esophagus, stomach, and part of the small
intestine. Then multiple x-rays are taken and the barium
helps to detect abnormalities.
Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy (PEG)- one of the
newer techniques in detecting abnormalities, it is similar to the
endoscopy, but is inserted through the skin and muscle
directly into the stomach.
